Neurotoxins

Neurotoxins (also known as Xeomin, Botox®, Jeauvueu, and Dysport) are injectable solutions that are effective for offering temporary blockage to nerve receptors in the muscle. These blockages help to prevent the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The technology can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating under the arms. This cosmetic treatment has ranked as the number one non-surgical procedure since 2000.

Botox ®

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the first FDA-approved treatment for temporarily improving the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and brow lines in adults.

Treatment is a fast 20-30 minute procedure with little downtime. For moderate to serious frown lines, you may see results in as little as 7-10 with results lasting up to 4 months.

Dysport®

Here at Studio IV, we prefer the neuromodulator Dysport® because it takes effect a little quicker, can last a little longer, and is personally what we use on our own faces!  We do, however, offer Botox® as well.

Neuromodulators are injected into the muscle to temporarily reduce muscle activity therefore decreasing muscle contractions that contribute to facial lines and wrinkles.

Fillers

Fillers are a soft gel injected into the skin to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and give a fuller look to the lips and face. How long does it last?

The effects of all neurotoxins should last 3-4 months, sometimes longer. As we age, the duration tends to be shorter. There is a period of time that the injection takes to wear off and the body to regain the ability to trigger muscle movement. For this reason, it’s important to establish a neurotoxin regimen to maintain optimal results.

How Long Will it Take Before I See a Difference?

Botox: 5-10 days Dysport: within 3 days

How Many Injections do I need?

Depending on the area being treated, there are multiple injection sites. The eyes usally 3-4 each; the forehead can be 3-9; the area between the eyebrows 5-7. At Studio iV patient comfort is our highest priority. We use several distraction techniques as well as use specialized needles that are smaller than typical neurotoxin injections.

When will I see results from filler and how long do they last?

Filler results are immediate and can last up to one year.
